Reproducing Patterned Glass

Volume 38 - Issue 1

When glass restoration artists are working on older leaded glass windows, they sometimes need to replace patterned glass that is no longer available. Mark Lauckner shares techniques for using castable refractory mix to create a mold of the original glass piece that is then used to make a duplicate before being cut to the correct size. The firing schedule is provided. Article originally published on page 54 in the Spring 2022 issue of Glass Patterns Quarterly®.
