NZV8 #213 February 2023

Issue 213

WHAT'S INSIDE? The cover star of February’s issue is Todd Collins’ ’71 C10 pickup. Built by the crew at Kruzin Kustoms, it features a bespoke Porterbuilt custom rear clip, which is the first of its kind in New Zealand. Not only that, it’s powered by GM’s finest 6.2-litre LSA engine, punching out 430kW. This hot street-style slammed C10 is just oozing with custom fabrication and we would have to say it's the Mac daddy of all C10s here in NZ. For something a little different, we check out Chris Drinnan’s wild ’73 Holden Monaro, and he shows us his talent for making clouds in his blown 383ci small block Chev. Then we head north with Richard Opie to check out the Pre ’49s show with its smorgasbord of rad rods on display at the Tongariro Domain. We also go abroad to the USA with Greg Stokes and bring you all the latest and greatest from Sema 2022, and go on an epic road trip packed full of all things hot rod and V8s. Back in NZ, we head south with Rodd Dunn and see how clouds are made at the Lolife Burnout event in Kaikoura. There’s a cool interview with a crazy Kiwi man called Ben Wilson who has a passion for sending cars off a cliff in Alaska, a stallion in the stable ’70 Mustang fastback, and a pro street Fairlane — she’s chocka and rich in content this one
