NZV8 was invited back for another year to cover New Zealand's most beloved festival, the massive five-day event honouring classic cars from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Needless to say… It was a blast! Although only four months had passed since the previous Repco Beach Hop, this year's event was not only larger than in previous years, but also featured an entirely new lineup of activities to keep things fresh and exciting. One such event was Power Cruise the Loop '23, a scenic voyage around the Coromandel with stops at various towns for Beach Hop-only special shopping deals and a $5000 grand prize for one lucky hopper. Another new event was King of the Hop, where Elvis Presley entertainers performed for a grand prize of $10,000. Since there wasn't enough time to give away a car, a whopping $50,000 and another $10,000 were up for grabs instead. If you thought that was a lot of money, Harley Davidson's put in a further $5000 cash prize! The Waihi Warm-up Party, Thunder Cruise to Onemana, and Grand Parade were all still on the schedule, and we were there in the thick of it to bring you all the juicy photos and stories. We also have over 25 features packed into this magazine of memories, not to mention the big Top Ten Shootout. This Beach Hop Annual featured five cars, three motorcycles, and two caravans to determine who was the crowd favourite — we’ll leave you to have a read and find out who that was! As we are all here for the love of cars, this magazine was created with a tonne of love, but it also perfectly captures the spirit of Repco Beach Hop, the best festival for Kiwi car enthusiasts. We sincerely hope you enjoy it, and we hope to see you all at Beach Hop 24 next year.
