While most fused glass artists eventually embrace cold working for finishing their glass projects, it is a much smaller group who venture into decorative cold working. One reason is that the most versatile machine for decorative cold working is a glass lathe, an historically expensive machine that has been out of reach for most artists. However, a glass lathe model recently released by Covington Engineering delivers compactness, precision, and a relatively low price that could advance lathes into the glass artist mainstream.
